Surf Canyon: Social media marketing

the client
Surf Canyon is a new retail and experience space in Malibu that brings together over a dozen curated vendors across fashion, wellness, home goods, and events—all under one stylish roof.
the problem
As a new player in a saturated, buzz-driven market, Surf Canyon needed to build local awareness from the ground up. They needed a way to grow their social presence organically, get on the radar of Malibu locals, drive real traffic, and convert that into both vendor sales and event attendance.
the  solution
We created and executed an organic social media strategy designed to do exactly that. From content planning and brand storytelling to community engagement and growth tactics, we treated Surf Canyon’s socials like a mini digital magazine—designed to spotlight vendors, show behind-the-scenes energy, and build anticipation for events. We also managed and organized photography across all 12+ vendors, ensuring a cohesive visual language. The result: steady, authentic growth—and real people walking through the door.
Malibu’s Newest Spot, Made Social

We took over Surf Canyon’s Instagram and turned it into a community hub. Through curated reels, vendor features, and daily content execution, we gave each of the 12+ small businesses within Surf Canyon a platform. We also helped define the brand’s tone and visual voice so that every post felt aligned with the laid-back but elevated vibe of the space. Our social media marketing wasn’t just about followers—it was about getting Malibu to care.

the  project
We helped Surf Canyon grow their Malibu presence from the ground up—through organic social, content creation, and event promotion that brought people through the door.

Turning Scrolls Into Foot Traffic

In addition to content creation and day-to-day growth strategy, we focused heavily on event marketing. We promoted pop-ups, weekend events, and special activations, helping Surf Canyon convert online impressions into real-world attendees. We also organized on-site photography and brand content shoots—ensuring each vendor had high-quality, shareable content to grow their own following while amplifying the Surf Canyon brand.
